Category – 3D FX Animation
Submissions in this category should be short and poignant clips created in postproduction.
Clips can be 2D or 3D animation only, compositing only, or a combination of live-action footage and CGI.
Since this category’s focus is on the creation of visual effects, an underlying and fully developed storyline is not imperative. However, a visually appealing and technically perfected final product should be a priority. Possible submissions could include, e.g., short films, commercials, trailers, on-air design, visual FX sequences for feature films, etc.
NOTE: Clip duration must not exceed 15 minutes. Submissions are judged on the quality of animations and graphics and not on quantity.

ASSESSMENT
Based on the subcategory, submissions are assessed according to the following criteria: object modelling; preparation and application of materials; lighting and scene design; complexity of compositing layers; drafts and images; technical quality of masks; fades; colour correction and colour grading; use of effects; integration of live-action footage. Based on the genre, content-related aspects, such as message, dramatization, editing, and story will be taken into consideration as well. The use of new technologies and originality will also be considered in the assessment.
